cookbook collection

I love cookbooks and have a growing collection.  I enjoy looking through them for ideas and inspiration.  Whether I decide to follow one of the recipes exactly to the letter or use it to create my own masterpiece, I have fun with the book.  I adore that most of them come complete with beautiful photos and lovely stories to accompany the delicious recipes.  Here are a few new and classic cookbooks I love...

Perfect for first timers, this guide teaches you in straightforward language how to cook everything from cinnamon buns to stir-fry to pizza with remarkable photos to help you along the way.

Blogger-turned-author Drummond gives readers a slice of frontier life in this likeable-enough collection of recipes and dispatches from the Oklahoma ranch she shares with her husband and children. Replicating the step-by-step photography that made her blog such a hit.

The Academy-Award winning actress and avid foodie shares a sumptuous collection of recipes and gorgeous photographs celebrating the joy of preparing food for loved ones, a passion she learned from her beloved father.

For both seasoned cooks and beginners who love good food and long to reproduce at home the savory delights of the classic cuisine.  This beautiful book, with more than 100 instructive illustrations, is revolutionary in its approach.

This book has been teaching Americans how to cook since its first private printing in 1931.  The nearly 5,000 recipes are handily organized by meal and ingredient, and no cooking instruction goes unexplained.  It includes nutritional information as well as an extremely helpful list of measures and equivalents.

What is your favorite cookbook?

Kelly, love your blog! My favorite cookbooks are any/all of the Junior League of Denver cookbooks. I think there are 4 or 5 now and everything I've either made or had has been fabulous. Check em out! Also, if you don't have a subscription to Cuisine at Home, get one! Best recipes ever :)
