zinke intimates

"Designers and sisters, Jessie Zinke and Arin Robinson, bring a fresh, fashion forward approach to lingerie: an aesthetic of simple luxury with a vibrant, fashionable edge. The Zinke brand embraces creative expression and individualism in the wearer. Zinke styles are designed to be worn in a mix and match fashion, “peeking out” from under clothing. It is the individualism and spirit behind the vibrant Zinke collections that make the brand versatile, playful and covetable. All items are designed and manufactured in the USA."

The lovely girls at Zinke just launched their fabulous website and it is full of the MOST gorgeous photos of their beautiful lingerie.  You can also find this lovely lingerie on anthropologie, shopbop, free people (a zinke exclusive free people collection due to debut in July-yay!) and urban outfitters!  If you are looking for something super special and lovely (that can be worn in and out of the bedroom) treat yourself to one of these lovely pieces...

hummus, i got the hummus ...

Ross: (After Joey gets humus on Phoebe's dress) Don't rub it! (clapping) What gets out hummus?! What gets out humus?!
Phoebe: Monica, Monica! You know, what gets out hummus?
Monica: If it is a new message, what is he calling to say?
Phoebe: Okay, thanks. Yeah, I'll try that.

I always think of my favorite Friends episode, (the one where no one's ready) when I hear the word hummus.  If you haven't watched this episode, it is a must see!  Anywho, besides being part of a hilarious Friends episode hummus is also a delicious and healthy snack!  Not to mention, quite easy to make - here is a recipe from food & wine:
1 cup cooked chickpeas, drained
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
 2 tablespoons tahini
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper

In a food processor, puree the chickpeas, garlic, tahini and lemon juice. Gradually add the olive oil until incorporated. Season the hummus with salt and pepper and scrape it into a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve or use.

sprinkle some red pepper on top to serve...

Pita chips and hummus are an excellent pair!  I cut up some pita bread, brushed the wedges with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkled on some sea salt, and popped them in the oven until crispy!

Take this snack to a Memorial Day party this weekend!
(...and try not to spill any on your friends)

free yourself - nike free

It is running season again...time to dust off my running shoes!  Studies suggest that barefoot runners develop stronger feet. Natural motion builds strength, and strength means speed. NikeFree is all about speed.  Deep cuts in the outsole mean your feet flex and move the way they would if you were barefoot.  Designed to maximize the foot's natural range of motion while providing protection and cushioning for a smooth ride. These are my very favorite running shoes!  They are so lightweight, comfortable and flexible.  The Nike Free Run+ 2 are cute, fun, affordable and FAST!  What's not to like?

Here is why you will love them...

-Inner sleeve for a snug fit and enhanced breathability
-Bonded synthetic overlays for super-strong, flexible support
-Fused Phylite midsole and outsole for an ultra-lightweight, resilient ride
-Deep flex grooves along the outsole for natural range of motion and flexibility
-Weight: 7.2 ounces (feather light) :)

Designed to keep the foot in place without restricting movement, Nike Free features bonded overlays for excellent support. Lightweight and flexible, these thin strips are attached to the mesh upper for a streamlined fit. The inner sleeve provides a snug feel, yet it's dynamic enough to move with the natural motion of the foot.

Deep flex grooves along the outsole allow the foot to move naturally in multiple directions. The heel features a “center of pressure” design for extra cushioning on contact, maximizing overall flexibility.

Without sacrificing the feel of barefoot running, the Nike Free delivers a plush, cushioned ride. Phylite material seamlessly fuses the midsole with the outsole, creating a one-piece design that's as resilient as it is durable. The molded sockliner mimics the curves of the foot for a comfortable, supportive fit.

AND, you can use a Nike+ ($19) sensor with these kicks (a must have for me)!  With Nike+, you can track your time, distance, pace and calories burned.  Simply place the sensor under the sockliner of your left Nike+ ready shoe and start running to sync it with your Nike+ tracking device (iPhone, watch, iPod, etc). The sensor measures your pace, distance, time elapsed and calories burned, and wirelessly transmits it to your device for real-time feedback while you train.

Ready, set, go!
